Flow Exam Grading is a companion app for teachers who use the exam-grading module of Flow (flow.izid.io). A teacher signs in with the account their school or organization issued, scans students' handwritten exam pages with the phone's document scanner, and uploads them to the organization's Flow workspace, where they are graded with AI assistance and reviewed by the teacher. The app can also be tried without an account in a shared demonstration workspace.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Sign-in details: username and password, or the phone number used for WhatsApp sign-in approval | To sign you in to your organization's Flow workspace. The password is never stored on the device. |
| Your sign-in token | Held in the device's encrypted storage (Keychain / Android encrypted storage) to authenticate requests. |
| Scanned exam pages (images combined into a PDF) | This is the purpose of the app: the pages are uploaded so the exam can be graded. They contain the students' handwritten answers and may contain a student's name. |
| Class rosters, scores and written assessments | Downloaded from your organization's workspace and shown to you. They are created and managed on the Flow website, not by the app. |
| App language and server-address settings | Stored on the device only. |
Scans waiting to upload (for example while offline) are kept in the app's private storage on the device and are removed once uploaded or when you delete them from the upload queue.
The camera is used only by the document scanner you open to capture exam pages. The scanner also lets you import an existing picture of a page; the app receives only the pictures you pick, and does not browse your photo library. The app does not take pictures in the background and does not save scans to your photo gallery.
To read the handwriting and suggest scores, Flow's server sends the uploaded pages, together with the exam's questions and rubric, to an AI service provider (Anthropic) that processes them on Flow's behalf under commercial terms that do not permit using the data to train its models. Scores remain suggestions until the teacher reviews and confirms them.
Uploaded exams belong to the organization (for example, the school) whose workspace you signed in to. They are visible to the teachers and administrators that organization authorizes in Flow. The organization decides what to collect about its students and is responsible for having the authority to do so; Flow processes that data on the organization's behalf.
"Try without an account" opens a shared demonstration workspace. Do not upload real student work there. Uploads in the demonstration workspace are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Exams uploaded to an organization's workspace are kept until the organization deletes them in Flow. Uploads made in the demonstration workspace are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
This section applies to the Flow Exam Grading app («בדיקת מבחנים») by Flow (flow.izid.io).
What is deleted: your sign-in details (username, phone number) and account, the exam scans and PDFs you uploaded, and the AI-suggested scores and written assessments produced from them. Scans still waiting in the app's upload queue are removed from the device when you delete them from the queue or uninstall the app.
What may be kept: grades and assessments your organization has already confirmed and needs for its own records stay with the organization, under its retention rules.
All traffic between the app and the server uses HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are kept in the device's encrypted storage, and access on the server is limited to the organization's authorized users.
The app is intended for teachers and staff, not for children, and is not to be used by students. Student work reaches the app only because a teacher scans it on behalf of their school.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
